George and Gene Gordon opened the Playland Arcade on the Santa Monica Pier in early 1950’s. The two brothers began their arcade legacy with a route of arcade games and kiddie rides that went from Hollywood to the Pacific Ocean, and even included a Hollywood bowling alley. Today, the Playland Arcade is owned and operated by Marlene Gordon, Joanie Gordon, and their nieces, Monique Giroux and Dana Picore (daughters to Barbara Gordon).
The Playland Arcade remains a frequently visited attraction on the historic Santa Monica Pier and continues to be owned & operated by The Gordon Family.
